I haven't explored it too fully, but the digital die cuts from Hero Arts and the stamps that match them look outstanding. Def. a great marriage. I love the cut out look and the process seems quite easy to do.

Wow thats a great idea but how did she get the design of the stamps to the computer do you think? Did she stamp them first then scan them in?
I saw these on another site, I also saw similar that you emboss with your Wizard or what ever, not with plates of a certain pattern but shapes to match the die cut iykwim.
Things like this are not for me I don't use anything more than once and that makes stamps and things like that a very expensive hobby plus I'm rubbish at painting even with promarkers :lol: I'll stick with print, cut, delete and on with the next thing :lol:
If people are making and selling cards, I can see they might get plenty of use from making multiple copies of the same card, I couldn't do that either it would bore me to tears.
I think that the stamp company created the silhouette and you buy that to accompany the stamps. I just love how it looks and although I'm pretty good at cutting ut I could never get it so precise. Lucille, I get you. I also don't make a ton of the same thing, or make a lot of cards, but I can see getting one or two of the cutting files to accompany specific stamps just to have on stand-by. What I wonder is if it is easy to create your own to go with stamps you have? It's been so long since I've "designed" and what I did was only ever very limited, so just not sure. But I imagine if you stamped an image then scanned it and added the cutting lines you could make your own to go with stamps you already have - which would be cool. Although copyright wise I don't think you could share them as the stamp design is copyright of the company. But it looked pretty swish to me - and I love colouring in :)
I'm sure a lot gets copied for personal use, but who's to know if it isn't plastered all over the internet :lol: and shared here of course :lol:
Stamping and scanning your stamps is a good idea, I've done it and I do it with my old brass stencils and templates as well, just draw round them with a black pen and bingo, you can even scan some metal and plastic templates without tracing and punches, punch on white paper, back it with dark card and scan, there is always a way :lol:
Hero arts also make cutting files that are sold on the silhouette site, some of them leave me wondering :wacko: if they would actually cut, because the colouring is so awful.
Thank you for this ladies. Like you Lucille I tend to use a design only once or twice as I get bored very quickly, which makes it a really expensive hobby. I have stacks of stuff that I've only used once and then lost interest in but trying to produce die-cuts from my stamps sounds like a challenge for me and may make me use some of them again.
Could you use digital stamps for one of creations,make a cutting file from it and cut it out and color it as you wanted too.

I think there was someone ages ago on the forum who did something similar with her stamped images. I believe she may have used the sides of the stamp as guide marks on her cutting file rather than faffing about with stamp positioners. It might be worth a search?

The shapes are cut first and then you have to stamp on the cut out. I was excited to see this at first because I thought they were digital stamps and could be resized, but they're not. Scanning the stamp image is against copyright and terms of use conditions, but I'm sure people do it all the time for their own personal crafting. I do this a lot with digital stamps for my card making and it is really convenient. I hate cutting by hand...Quote:
