Hi
Does anyone know of a paper to use for decoupage where the silicone glue doesn't soak through please?
Anything above 120 gsm should be fine.
Thank you. It's just that papers are expensive and a waste of money if they are not fit for the purpose you require so I want to make sure I get the right one.
i use pinflair glue and it doesn't show under anything:)
Oh that's great, thank you for that. I've been using Colall 3D glue but I've noticed it soaks through. I've just bought the C&C silicone glue that was on offer buy 3 tubes get 3 free so don't know yet what that will be like. At the moment the paper I use for decoupage, background sheets, inserts and colouring with promarkers is Staples text and graphic but was wondering if there was a better one for all of this.
Pinflair Glue Gel every time for me, it won't show through as a greasy mark -definitely don't be tempted to use general silicone.
Oh well, you live and learn! I've been using Collall 3d glue which is very sticky and it is showing through as you say like a greasy mark. I've now bought some of C&C's own brand as it was on offer buy 3 get 3 free so don't know what that will be like. If no good I'll definitely buy some pinflair glue. I do love the Collall general purpose glue for sticking backing papers though. Any use Text and Graphics card at all?
If you get Pinflair for decoupage make sure it is the Glue GEL
Another vote for Pinflair, I have used another brand and I got greasy marks showing through even on heavy paper / cardstock. Not a problem with the Pinflair gel, I won't use any other sort now until someone convinces me very firmly that others are as good. Interestingly I don't think Pinflair is actually silicone, but it works as a dimensional glue which is good enough for me.
and it dries in a reasonable time:)
Thank you everyone
I use Collall photoglue and 3d Gel, and have never had any problem with them. I was told, by a craft shop owner, that they actually make the Pinflair glues.
Hi all
I have been using Pinflair for making pictures and they are all destroyed due to the silicone glue going yellow in colour..I cannot sell any of them now and have been asked to make one for a friend..
Could anyone recommend a 3D glue that will stay clear and not be greasy on my work?
I also seen a post for MS Polymer which is suppose to be good for 3D work and cheaper than Pinflair..But not sure which MS Polymer to get and has anyone used it?
Thank you
