Thanks ladies!

I am running slightly behind at the moment. Here is my week 12 card measuring 7.5 cm square. Used a free butterfly die from one of my craft magazines.
Lovely card Hazel, I particularly like the bright cheerful colours ^_^ Virginia, love your mini card too - I bought the same magazine last night ;)
That's lovely Virginia!

Well done on using your freebie so quickly Virginia. :) It's a lovely little card!
Hazel - I love the hexagon card! love the paper choice.
Virginia - fab card! I was soooo excited to get an actual 'die' free lol!
My week 13 card using spring as my inspiration. My garden has primroses, heather and lots of birds singing happily in it.
Lovely card Virginia, and now spring seems to have finally arrived it's very apt too ^_^
Lovely card Virginia and very spring like!
 it is official - I am a numpty! I totally misread the prompt and thought it was for folk art so it had me thrown for 2 weeks as my stash is folk art free. I also couldn't think of a recipient! i know my brother likes what he calls 'bavarian folk art' plaques so I set to on Craft artist and made this voucher/money card for him knowing it will go in the bin so didn't stress too much over it!

Last weeks also had me flumoxed as I don't have a hexagon die - and I really really want one *throws a strop*. I had planned cutting something from my Robo but my mats are stick free so I made do with an embossing folder and my new Tatty stamp I got in the sale and my new MS punch my Dad bought me - gotta love my Dad:lol:

and I'm back up to date for a few hours:P
I have also been shirking my papercrafting in favour of my new found love of all things crochet! I have actually made 2 useable items and given them away to wanting recipients and am currently working on a bed runner :) This years challenge to learn how to is well under way!
Well despite all the obstacles Lilli those cards are just gorgeous. :D And I hate to say it, but you need a hexagon die/punch, they really are good for using up scraps and mixing and matching - it will pay for itself in hours of entertainment. :p
Great take on the folk art too!
Just realised I hadn't shared my hexagons on the thread so here they are:

beautiful cards - and making me strop even more lol!!!!! I have downloaded a couple of files for the robo but alas they won't be any good for using scraps!
Can I ask what cutting machine you use Nat? Your cut outs always have such a lovely edge to them.
Beautiful cards, Nat - saw them on your blog - and just had to buy the dies. Have happily used up lots of those scraps that we all end up with - just need to put them together in card now.
Am going to have to work like a demon to catch up with this years challenge - like the idea of doing Christmas ones as well. Thank you for organising and inspiring us !
I just have the original cuttlebug Lilli, had it god knows how long... I bought the extended plates for it as well so I can cut longer dies. Have to say have always had best cutting results with thin metal dies like PTI, MFT, spellbinders and cheery Lynn. Sizzlits are always hit and miss and marriane dies can need a few passes to cut cleanly... I'm afraid the rounded clean edge on my cuts is due to using dies... In my experience you just can't achieve that with an electric cutter. :)
Glad you managed to get the dies ST, hope to have fun with them. :)
What a lot of gorgeous cards girls. I think I need a hexagon die too.
Which mag has the free die on?
I was at the ATDML retreat at the weekend and was lucky enough to be sat opposite Wendy in the crop room, lovely to meet her and some wonderful work she did, very neat.
Met a few other UKS members too but can't remember who, oh dear.
Got a few cards to do this week so will be catching up on here I hope.
Fabulous cards Nat and your photographs always look like they are taken professionally! I'm with everyone else on here . . . I need a hexagon punch/die. I just received my hexagon embossing folder today . . Yay!
Hazel x
I definitely need that die or a punch too. The cards have been wonderful such lovely vibrant colours, even the pastels seem to stand out more when cut with a hexagon die - or is it an optical illusion?
*waves* to Carolyn - was lovely to meet someone from 'here' :)
I am tempted by hexagon dies too.....I just keep wondering if it is a bit of a phase - I do have a CM punch with two sizes of hexagon on already!
Wendy
My take on this weeks challenge . . . this one was my favourite so far!
Hazel x
What a fabulous card Hazel, so bright and cheerful and quick!

Oh yes that is bright and breezy Hazel.
I found the butterfly die mag, after Dh went and bought the wrong mag for me, Morrisons were happy to exchange it :)
Love the sentiment on that travel card thrifty! And the colour scheme on the other one.

Great cards Carolyn :)
Here is mine for week 13, still struggling to catch up! The inspiration was from Craft Stamper.
Wendy
silvertiger - could you pm me where and what dies you got please cos I really am going to cry and throw my teddy if I don't get some and soon:P All I can find are spellbinders and MFT which are only in USA from what I can find:(
MFT are sold as the Dienamics brand, there are several stockists in UK now, not sure if any of them are sponsors so can't name them... however if you google dienamics hexagon and specify pages from the Uk I have shopped at the first two listings which came up for me ..... :)
Wendy
Thank you so much Wendy - I found them (really don't know what I've been playing at looking for them before lol) and ordered and saved to favs for next payday:wub: for soooo many others on there I NEED! Now, do I really have to wait for the postman:huh:
One happy little crafter now:D
Well, this was the most challenging one for me so far!
First, I found that my ink pad was too dry in one spot and had to re-ink and re-stamp - no problem - then, I spent ages carefully colouring the image, only to find that when I stuck it in the aperture it just looked like I had just stamped the front of the card - this was due to my stupidity, in my decision to use the piece I had cut out to make the aperture, instead of a smaller one! Duh!! So, I had to try and prise it out - without ruining it - and 'fussy cut' closer to the edge of the stamp.
Eventually, I looked at the card and thought, 'I've stamped that crooked' . . . but, NO! The stamp has been made slightly wonky! :nono: I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same trouble with this particular stamp?
Anyway, for what it's worth, here it is.
Hazel x
Well worth all that trouble :) Love the colours
What a beautiful card Hazel.
Thanks ladies xx
beautiful card, looks a lovely stamp, and lovely colouring from you
I uuuumed and ahhhhhed as to whether to use this as this weeks or last weeks but decided to go for this weeks and spoil myself using the image again maybe :P for last weeks.
I had a bit of a download yesterday of digi images and whilst looking came across some chalk art and bought it, but when I looked at it properly i didn't like it so much and decided to have a go myself digitally! not as simple and definately not quick! Anyhow, this was my crafty days payout!

I too was looking for digi art yesterday and found a great site with 'contemporary' line art images, very clean and very simple (I spent a fortune!) They are called Pink Petticoat, and although I say I spent a fortune, it's down to the sheer volume I purchased, they are very reasonably priced and have some lovely papers too. Also, their angel policy is very generous - no credit required - anyway, I digress, I love your chalk board Lilli and I think it turned out well!

Well, the challenge this week, is something I do an awful lot of (making cards from scraps). I have a drawer at my tiny 'work station' and as you will see from the first picture, I can't bear to throw anything away, so throw it in my 'scraps' drawer instead. Then, periodically, I sift through, pick a few scraps out that go together and then make a card out of them.
This is what I did for Nat's challenge this week. Picture #1 is, as mentioned, my scraps drawer (hard to keep tidy ) picture #2 shows the scraps I chose and pic #3 is the finished card.
Hazel x
Both lovely cards Lilli and Hazel. Funnily enough most of my cards are made with scraps and it's nice to see someone else who has a large collection of them, scraps that is.
Hazel, I love Pink Petticoat and use Liz's designs over and over again. One of my favourites and most used is Elegance. I have all her designs saved to disc just in case the pc should crash. Mind you, they are quite cheap so wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to replace.
If you go into colour collection on the tabs at the top and then down the side they have a list - look for swirls and curls and Elegance is at the bottom. Mind you, I have a few from that range. Come to think of it, I have quite a few from every range.
Lovely seeing all these beautiful cards! So sorry I've not been as active in the thread recently. Last week was very chaotic trying to keep on top of crafting projects and getting my album done in time for the christening at the weekend - which was a lovely event. :)
I've still not managed to get my cards made for this week - and am off out to see my brother's new house tonight - but I am sure I shall catch up soon. ;)
Thanks Susie (I think ) I went looking again after and didn't find it - but, I did buy a shed load more!! - anyway, I will go and get them now. :thanks: Hazel x
PS I did see that a load of the ones I bought 2 days ago are now at a knock-down price on sale . . . just my luck (it would have meant I could have bought a load more
I think she is finishing some designs probably to make way for new ones, heaven help us then.
