Morning ladies
A day late means all the more loveliness to share
what’s on your desk … and it can be a metaphorical desk - this week
I have been making lots of blankets for Ukraine for a while. This is the last two and a bit weeks worthThey asked for baby blankets so these are the next 3. The smaller ones with grey are not my style but it was donated wool for those two and a lady asked if I could make two baby blankets for her donation .. there was only 4 balls of white and one grey so it was the only way I could get two out of it. I’m not a fan of granny squares really

They are really nice Karen, I rather like the grey and white combination. Very unisex.
Lovely Karen, and the colours are a bit different to the usual pink and blue.
Ellie
I think they are just lovely and will be very welcome, such a lovely thing to do Karen.
Busy week! But catching up, those blankets are lovely. I taught myself to crochet (rather built on very minimal skills taught to me by my great-grandmother) when I was expecting Jack and still dabble a bit, although way more into knitting at the moment. I found a pattern to make Handmaids on the Addi 22 pin machine and whipped that up in about an hour.
That is so cute!
Oh I love the handmaids MaryAnne
Lovely blankets Karen, I like the grey.
Cute little handmaid MaryAnne.
I’ve been making cards this week, hope to get some scrapping done now birthdays are out of the way…..

Just got back from a holiday and housework is on my metaphorical desk
What a fab selection of cards! I really love the sequin ... CHRISTMAS one?? Oh HELL NO. Not YET...
:D :D :D
I feel myself breaking out in a cold sweat and it is NOT from the heat...
Alison those cards are all so lovely. Bit of a sucker for the Minnie Mouse I'm afraid ... love that especially
Lovely cards Alison. All of them.
Ellie
I love all of those cards Alison, each so different how do you think of all the different styles? Coming up with ideas I find very hard. I usually start out making one thing, find it isn't working, agonise over how to make it work and then having a blinding flash of inspiration and make something completely different to what I intended. Yes, I do make life very difficult for myself. It always starts with a piece of card I just have to use and then can't figure out what to do with it.
My desk this week was such a mess that I just felt that I needed to sort it out. The scrap paper tray was overflowing and everything was being created in a smaller and smaller space. I’ve also finished my 2020 album recording all the ups and downs of the start of the pandemic. I wanted to capture how much life changed for us but also how we adapted to make things work. I’m pleased with the album.

That looks beautifully organised and sorted
That is so neat and tidy but sounds like your productive too.
Ladies, you will be interested to know I bought a labelling machine and it works fine except the labels keep falling off the boxes.
Very neat and tidy
Ellie
Thanks for the card comments.
Karen my DIL is Disney mad so I had to make that.
Susie I use Pinterest all the time for card ideas, I’m not good at making up my own designs. My cards are often straight copies, just using my own stash, doesn’t always work though !
The trees and sequin pieces are inspired by some cards by Marion Emberson from the Clean and Simple Cards FB group, she used mod podge and glitter (there’s a you tube video) I don’t have any glitter so have been experimenting with sticklers/glitter glue, hopefully finish them in the week and add to BTCR thread
Susie, sorry about your sticker labels !
Stitching Lady, lovely neat desk, and how nice to have finished a project :)
