Hi Adele,
I used to have the expensive papers they recommend for using with the decoupage CD but then tried thin photo paper (not card) and it works a treat!:D I prefer the matt to the gloss tho..
got mine from a poundshop recently :)
I buy whatever photo paper is on special! But apparently the Tesco value stuff is pretty good too. For backing sheets I print onto 90gsm paper or 90gsm matt photo paper or 160 gsm card.
For the decoupage not too thick. 160-180 gsm is great.
I have used paper from Tesco too... in particular the "Finest" range. Not the cheapest(around £3 per pack) but it does have a good feel quality and a nice sheen.. Doesn't buckle when you print on it.
Whenever you are printing your own papers, decoupage etc the best rule of thumb is..use the best quality paper that you can as that is the quality of backing paper you will get out! I second Mucky-pup about the Tesco finest range I've had good results with that too.

Many thanks ladies
devoniandecoupage.piczo.com is a great website for decoupage sheets for downloading.
i use just normal photo paper and i get mine from a local shop and its £1.00 for 25 sheets, it works a treat and certainly more cost effective than buying the expensive ones as long as you make sure that you set your printer to print onto photo paper or it will take forever to dry.
