Swaps
I've noticed the swaps thread has been really quiet lately. not sure if this is due to higher postage costs or just everyones busy but thought I'd suggest some here too in case they're being missed over there :)
Handmade flower swap - Groups of 5, everyone makes 5 handmade flowers, sends them to me which I mix up and send back so everyone gets 5 different flowers. here are some I got in a previous swap.

Kit swap - Each member will make a page kit (at least 2 sheets of cardstock, 2 sheets of PP and some embellishments) and send to someone else in the group. here is one I got in a previous swap.
Decorated notebook swap - Everyone buys a hardback, spiral bound notebook , decorates it and sends it to someone else in the group. Cant find the picture of the normal one I got last year but here is the Christmas themed one.

I'd be interested in the embellishment swap if anyone else wants to join in? X

Anyone else? Come on guys the swaps used to be fun :)
Out of curiosity, what is it thats putting everyone off? postage? Bad experience? Too busy?
-
I would like to do flowers swap.

I'm in.. flowers and embellishments definitely and maybe the kit one if anyone else is interested... although the postage cost might outweigh the value?
Why not ask MaryAnn to give this thread a prompt on the home page? That might get a few more interested.

Embellishments count me in :)

I've put together a kit and weighed it to see how much it would cost and in a pizza box it would be £2.60. Usually the kit is worth at least £5 (though this can come from your own stash as long as its good condition, no used stamps etc) so not as bad as I thought :)
I've updated the first post to show whos interested in what, hopefully have a full group soon. :)

I'm in with embellishments. And maybe kit swap.
I like swaps but I always find it so hard to decide what to send, and I'm always last minute so I try not to commit to too many things. Lifes fairly quiet at the mo so should be OK.
Perhaps you could rejig the kit requirements. I think 12 x 12 may be too big for royal Mails new parcel sizes. If you have pre cut paper rather than 12 x 12 should be able to send for £3 (plus £1.10 recorded ) If the products aren't too bulky you could perhaps get away with 'Large Letter' sizes. I can investigate the exact requirements if you want and make a sample kit to fit

yey thats enough for the embellishment swap :) Ill ask for a thread now.
For the kit swap a pizza box measures 34 x 33 x 6 so within the new limits for a small parcel so only £2.60 second class. As long as proof of postage is kept I don't mind if its not sent recorded. What do others think?

I can do the embellishment swap, cotton embroidered white lace .
Like the lace I have used on this LO.

I have taken part in many swaps in the past, but quite a few times I have ended up a bit disappointed with what I received in return. More if its been a swap where you make something or put something together specifically for that person. I hope no one is offended by my comment it is my personal feeling and why I take part in less swaps.

Not offended Jo... Just a precautionary tale that should be well received.
