Thank you Leigh.
I've got another one, I'm on quite a roll for me anyway!
The new is the vellum and it is so pretty and it sparkles though you can't really see it in the photo. Also new is the ribbon. I bought a box of American Crafts grosgrain which I love. I was going to put this card on Birthdays because it's a 60th - can I post it in two places?

Just poking my head in. I'm keeping up with the 52 card challenge better than i ever thought i would, but not managing more than one a week! However, I am managing to use up some really old stash, including freebie papers from magazines that i never thought i'd use!

Fab card Susie! The colours are lovely. :D
I managed to play with my new doily die again this week and twinned it with some new Crate Paper stash:

oooooh I missed this post - my new years resolution is to make cards using all that file of scrap paper i save and never use! I've been doing very well!!!!! After I set to and did a total stash sort and tidy - OCD in organised and crafting don't always get on well!
I will post my makes when I get more time. Alot are made with the white card you cut up and for some reason grab a clean a4 sheet next time rather than using the scraps - I'm sure that isn't just me! can't see me getting any gold stars mind lol!!!! a 'whole' sheet :o
-
Ooooh Nat, that card is gorgeous. Was the vellum pre-done or did you stamp it or what - tell me, tell me, tell me, I have to know? Such a beautiful font.
I need to tidy my scraps box too Lilli but it could take a while there is so much. I have a few half finished cards that went astray, tons of scraps of paper and printed sheets and die cuts.
-
LOL, I stamped onto the vellum with dye ink - it's a stamp from Waltzing Mouse Stamps - a wedding themed one, but I also love the Best Wishes stamp in it. :D

Here's a meeting of the old and new.... I needed no excuse to play with my new PTI stash this weekend and made this:

The papers are old but the scallop oval and large butterfly dies and stamps are new. :)

I have been doing soooo well with my stash busting! using everything from making flowers from circles punched ages ago, crayons from ds's art box- mmmm, not sure that constitutes using old stash but they were heading for the bin until i decided i'd use them!
this one though made my dh and friends laugh. it was made for the 52 card challenge.
the 'ribbon' is a tie off a bandage dh used to wrap my bleeding finger when i cut it badly with my craft knife. I hasten to say it is the 'too long' bit he cut off!
my blog has more of my thrifty makes on.

your cards are really beautiful TFS

Now that's what I call stashbusting Lilli. What a pretty card and I love the bandage.

Some lovely cards on here, I have decided to try and play along here since I have some new bits to play with. Here's a card I did this morning:
Old - the very old cosmo cricket paper from my scraps box
New - cricut wrap it up cartridge

Hi - hope you don't mind a newbie jumping in here - but this is such a fun thread!
OK! Made these two yesterday. The new is the tan card stock - bought for making 'man' cards, made both of these from one A4 sheet. The old is/are the mirri card mounts - left over bits from other cards, the toppers - actually the die cut aperture bits left over from a card kit, and the banners - bought in 'Lakeland' when they gave up doing craft stuff and sold it all off at silly prices two years ago !
-
Made this one this morning.
Old = purple pearl card stock - bought because it was pretty - never used.
Silver mirri - left over from making another card. Purple swirly paper - again left over from other cards. Lilac image - cut from a birthday card I received last year.
New = die, and the purple/silver "Happy Birthday" peel-off.
-
Welcome aboard! :D
Fab cards and hurrah and getting some of that stash used up so well. :)

This week I have made a concerted effort to use up all those lovely scraps of paper that "will all come in useful one day" - well - their day has come. I have an elderly friend who is no longer able to go out and about. It is her birthday this month and I thought I would do something practical for her and make a box of cards. She likes very traditional designs. So :-
New = the pastel card stock and some of the peel offs.
Old = the toppers/backing papers/sentiments all made from bits of paper left over from cards kits bought years ago !!
