Trying to upload

Hi, I'm trying to upload my first layout. I don't know how to scan the picture so I have taken a photo of it. When I tried to upload the image it said the file size is too big - 1.49MB Is there any way I can change this?

I do it by reducing the size of the image in my photo editing software.

I've downloaded "PixResizer" free from the net - it's really simple to use and reduces my file sizes ready for posting without making the picture look blurry or pixilised. HTH xxx
