love the pic and really admire your honesty!

I've used Venture several times now with their £25.00 offer, the first time we had an extra set of 8x10, but each subsequent time came away with just the free pic - I then had a fab idea of buying a frame from Ikea for £15.00, took my three fave pics to a local framing shop who mounted the pics for £40.00 and I now have a 'Venture' look picture without the Venture price!

We had a session at venture a couple of weeks ago, when my hubby saw the price list he was shocked and said "well we won't be buying any"! We had our viewing on Saturday and I have to say the photos were fabulous. So much so we just had to buy one, well 3 acutally but in one frame. Yes it's cost us (okay its cost him), but well worth it We didn't get any hard sell, and the guy was great because he mixed and matched the photos for us and when asked changed them from colour to black and white and vice-a-versa. I'll be the first to admit I wouldn't of gone near the place if they hadn't had an offer on, but I'm so glad I did. And I picked up some idea's for photos.

I've only just found this thread - thanks for all the fab feedback ladies.

The big thing for me is that I LOVE taking those darn photos. Yes I am running it as a PT business because I'd desperately love to give up my day job, but for me seeing those beaming smiles or the odd tear when my clients collect their prints is what truly does it for me. Seeings as my DH doesn't read this board I can safely say its better than sex !!

    Edited to add:

My family did a surprise photo shoot with CJ for my Christmas Present - the tears when I saw the photos just flowed!

CJ if I was closer you WOULD be doing my pics, and Kirsty too!
Went to olan mills for our last parrot shoot last night and I have to say they were real corkers. In fact the one of Simba that I am having as an 11x14" I was lost for words when I saw it and just kinda went 'WOW'! In fact they were that good I have ordered an 11x14, 2 8x10s and 4 5x7s! The whole caboodle? £55! (they have a sale on!) and they are just amazing!

    The Venture experience.

I went to Venture today for the preview. My first impression - this is a minimum wage shop, the Macdonalds of photography. I was disappointed. I just wanted a nice picture of me, my wife and our two girls. They couldn't deliver. All the pictures were bleached, skewed, and cropped in a silly way, they weren't pictures - they were a concept. Sorry guys, I don't like the concept. It could have been so much better. We will reframe our skewed £35 10x8 photo, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, we won't go back. Find a small place, tell them what you want and pay a sensible price, say £200 or £300 or even £500. That's what I will be doing.

We were given a Venture voucher last year - I only had the picture on the offer - knew exactly what I wanted and got it! I was given no hard sell and have had no sales follow up calls of any sort from them.

I have 3 girls - -2 of whom are old enough to be camera shy at the moment - and it was fantastic to see them having real "good fun" in the session - was worth it just for that!

Seems an odd thing for someone to suddenly join UKS and immediately post on a 6 month old thread......the curse of the search engine strikes again, methinks!

Nice to see Wanna-scrap and Rudishoes burning the midnight oil!
