1st christmas

it was DD 1st christmas this year and wonder whether there were any nice verses that i could use on my LOs

I'd be interested to hear any ideas for this too, but for boys. My ds has just enjoyed his first christmas (and his first birthday today - i was in labour at this time last year argh) so I would like to scrap the event (christmas that is, not the labour!) Still to scrap 3yr old ds first christmas as well!

Hi Claire, have you tried twopeasinabucket.com? I just did a search for first christmas and there are a few ideas there. I quite like this one:

You have to hold him up to see
The angel on the Christmas tree.
And even though he's still too small
To know the meaning of it all
You watch his eyes reflect the glow
Of colored lights that come and go
And feel him quiver with delight
At every new and wondrous sight.
There's Santa with his jolly face
Beaming from the fireplace.
And from the stocking hanging there
Peeks a cuddly teddy bear.
Bright ornaments and candy canes --
Musical toy and wooden trains --
There's just no end to the delights
Spread out for him this night of nights!
He points and grins from ear to ear
And then he yawns - his bedtime's near!
Dad gives him a kiss and you tuck him away
To rest up for the fun of his first Christmas Day!

You could adapt it for a boy or girl. I'd be curious to see any layouts that anyone else has done for baby's first christmas.

If you go into the resources section on the homepage, then 'search soup'. I used the search criteria 'first christmas' in the 'where the soup contains' section and left all the other search options as they are. There are 10 matches but I haven't looked at them all. Hopefully this will work!

ooh I'll have to look at 2peas as well as it was also my DD2s first Christmas and want to do a mini book of her opening her presents.
