Hi I'm Lynne 58 and live with DH and a crazy little dog, we have a son and two daughters and a 5 lovely grandkids ranging from 3 to 11. I have been crafting in one form or another since I was little, dressmaking and embroidery were my first loves, then on to cross stitch and knitting, these are now quite difficult for me because of arthritis so I took up computers and papercrafting, what a way to drive yourself crazy as you get older, I know all this is supposed to be relaxing but I'm getting so stressed at times I'm sure it is my form of adrenaline sport. I first joined Ukscrappers a couple of years ago when I had thought I might take up scrapping, I never did, I decided to put everything onto discs and slideshows instead, so I didnt visit here for the longest time. I have had my robo several months but only recently found the time to learn to use it and that is how I landed up back here and wow what a rollercoaster ride that has been too. If it hadnt been for this forum and all the help and advice so readily available I am sure my robo would still be in his box or maybe on that auction site already.
Hugs Lynne

I've been reading this thread and thought I'd join in. My name is Ruth and I am 70 - a bit older than most of you but that's only in body.
I have 5 children 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren - they don't believe me when I tell them what's causing it!
I love all sorts of craft although my main area of expertise is in bobbin lacemaking and I design patterns which are sold all over the world - but not I haste to add on ''that'' auction site! I am constantly coming across copywrite abuse in that field also.
I bought my robo at the end of October and am enjoying myself immensely with my boxes and my tiny sheltered flat is littered with them. I am confined more or less to my workspaces because of physical difficulties but it doesn't mean I allow my brain to stagnate.
My eldest son has for many years been a computer consultant so I am not allowed to be afraid of it and this I think is why I seem to be an oddity amongst my contempories, but hey they don't know the fun they are missing.
Many regards and remember you'll never know what you are capable of if you don't give it a go.
Ruthan x
There's nothing wrong with teenagers that reasoning with them won't aggravate!

Great thread!
Im Suzy, (or Susannah as my Mother insists!) I have just turned 30
I live in Luton (Not by the airport!) which some of yu may know was vote 'the wost place to live in England'. (I shall make not comment, LOL)
I have a DH of nearly 4 years and my pride and joy is my Westie Ralphy.
I run a small group of private day nurseries and have worked with children for nearly 13 years.
I started card making originally and moved into scrapping this year. I have to admit I was inspired to buy the robo after seeing a member of UKS's work on another forum (I wasn't a member here at this point) DH brough me the 'robocop' (He named it) as a surprise last year and I love it!

Hello all! I'm Natasha, 37 (eek!), married for almost five years with an 8-month old daughter. I originally started with cross-stitch and knitting (my Mum's way of keeping me out of mischief!) then moved on to card-making about 15 years ago. Found scrapbooking almost 2 years ago now and it has completely taken over my life! I do NOT want to know how much I have spent on papers, embellishments and various bits of kit since then.... I'm addicted to collecting fonts (must clear them out I don't use nearly half of them!) and just love mucking about with ribbons, buttons and flowers. I've had my CR for just over a year now, but have really only started making proper use of it since being on maternity leave.... it's amazing how much crafting you can get done while a baby is asleep!

Hi I'm Lynn
Yes I do live in a madhouse !!! with my DH, DD (14), DD (11) and my mother.
I am 44 and work as a pre school teacher. I also do voluntary work in the school's reception class as well as Brownies & Guides when needed (usually when it's a craft activity !!) I mainly make cards which I only sell to friends although that will never get rid of all the stock I have got. I have had my robo for just over a year but havn't progressed very far, my oldest DD looks at the templates shown by the talented amongst you and is trying to master some of her own -she is far more patient than me. I live fairly near J6 of M25 so am hoping to hear from someone who lives near me who has more experience.

Specialising in 3D Templates
OMG there was only 4 pages when I started reading this thread and now theres 9 WOW (11 by the time I finished my epilogue)
Anyway Im Chrissie was 53 on the 1st, I live in Sheppertonin Middlesex and work in London I have live and worked down here for 8 years but hail from Cumbria but have travel north and south as was in the RAF in my twenties (9years).
I am a property manager and work fulltime, and in my sparetime I have built up my cardmaking business - maily wedding stationery, but do well with my special occassion books (not bookatrix sorry but really dislike them) and 3D cards.
My partner hates my CR as he says it is 2 noisy so have to limit the times I use it (although he does go into a coma when he is a sleep so I sneak it out then lol) he puts up with me dragging him to craft shops when we are out and about - bless him he hasn't worked out that I look for craft shops and then casually mention "Oh I have you ever been to xxxxx maybe we can go for a trip there"!! Shameless...
I have taught myself how to write html and created my own websites, I have made some digital animated scrapbooks but | am not allowed yet to post the url so you can have a nose
Sorry got a bit carried away and rambled on a bit
xx

Hooked on Pop-up Cards
I only looked at all the replies in this thread today. How wonderful to have such a diverse membership on UKS.
I'm not part of the Robo Rebel clan, but consider myself a bit of a rebel anyway.
I'm 50 closing on 51. Happily married for 32 years. We had 2 children, a son and daughter. Our son was killed in a road accident, so now we only have our daughter. We have 3 grandchildren, 2 adopted, who are disabled and a birth grandchild. ( Number 4 is maturing nicely)
Hubby bought me a Robo in July 2006 after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Scalpels and trembling hands are not a good combination.
We lived in Munich for 6 years before moving to the South of France 3 years ago. I hate going back to the UK because of the damp weather and the effect on my arthiritis.
Designing templates is a real joy for me. Robbie has enabled me to extend my creativity to a new level.
Just to add. Maria, I sympathise!!
