    Converting SVG files to GSD

Hi there, I am very new at all this. I have a Craft Robo Lite and just the RoboMaster software (at present).

I have seen some lovelly templates to download but they are SVG format. How would I go about opening these files in RoboMaster software?? I can't see a way to 'open' them.

I have put DesignMaster II on my Christmas Wish list, will this help me??

I am hoping that someday in the future I will be able to create 'lace and lattice' designs myself.

    Many thanks for any information.

    Regards

    Dawn in Plymouth

Hi Dawn, you might have more luck with your question in the craft robo section http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/...play.php?f=203

Hi. I don't have Design Master so can't comment on that but I do know that you can open (and create) SVG files in Inkscape, which is free to download. You can actually cut straight from Inkscape to the robo so it might be worth having a look to tide you over until Christmas! Hope that helps. X

Hi Dawn if you download Inscape from here (it's Free) you can open the SVG's then either cut directly from Inkscape there's a tutorial here or save the file as a DXF ...open Robomaster and do FILE/LOAD DXF and cut it from there.
There are lots of tutorials for Inkscape here including making lattice.
Inkscape can do more than Designmaster so it's worth giving it a try and you can save your money for another present.

Thank you ladies for answering my question - I really appreciate it.

I am used to Embroidery softwares but this new stuff is a different kettle of fish entirely.

I appreciate all the responses, thank you

It is a little daunting at first but it's a great tool to have as it's so versatile! Wouldn't be without my robo now.

Great minds obviously think alike Doreen! Thank you for posting the links, I was replying from my phone this morning so didn't have access to all the info!
