    It works - its easy!!!

    Hi there

I know it's not exciting really but I have the new DM software and have welded a word and cut it and not only did it only take me 2 minutes but my CR cut it brilliantly - on thick pearlised card with not a hitch - I know it will take me longer to do something a little more intricate but I am so pleased that I spent the money - for me just doing this (for my cards that I personalise and sell) has proved its purpose - thank you graphtec.

Susy, did it cut in the right place?? I and others just can't get it to do that bit right. Designing is wonderful with DM but just have the issue with the landscape / portrait.
Love your dog by the way.

Sue don't know whether you saw my post on the other thread as I posted about the same time as you did but I have found that if I have the blank set to landscape and don't select axis swap but click the second icon in the cut tool bar ( -90 degrees) it places it in the right place.

Did it cut it in the right place on your sheet?

Just tried that. It NEARLY works. Certainly does landscape BUT it doesn't fit it all on and finishes off what it couldn't do at one end rigth back at the start. I seem to see that it is trying to draw in a square area NOT an oblong A4 area.

In plotting defaults and then set up I have the machine limits set to length 210 and width 297.

Yep, mine is the same. OH says it is trying to draw in a portrait space despite what I am telling it. Doesn't matter what I do it seems.

Yes mine does too Sue but I just tried a square welded word card and all it cut the first time was two sides of the square.

Hi - must admit I did in portrait - not landscape but yes it did cut exactly where I asked it to.

You can change your Machine Limits to whatever you want... BUT then be careful you don't cut outside your mat! The CR will still be limited to the same width, but your maximum length will be whatever it is in RM.

You don't have to do it that way in DM. Just go to Cut>Plotting Defaults and check Multi-Pass and then enter the number 2. Click on Save Default and then OK. It will cut twice now.
