Once I paid for it once I think I downloaded it to my second computer using the number they give you - like an activation code. It was a month or so ago now. Someone else with it might be able to talk you through it step by step.

    hiya,

I downloaded the full SCAL software after much hesitation over the course of a couple of days, and I must say I think it's ace. I've got quite a lot of cartridges which i'm sure I'll still use, but probably when the computer is on the blink. Already my LOs are looking much better just for the variety of fonts you can use. I've had no trouble at all, and have used inkscape to design basic pop-up templates which only need folding and then are ready to go! yep, i love it, and am quite relieved not to be forking out £50 for each new cartridge, or stressing out bidding on ebay!

There is a forum where some talented ladies have allowed you to download their designs including scalloped squares, circles and flourishes etc. I - personally - have had no problem with my cricut since downloading this software. And I know a load of people who have sold their CR's after downloading this as it's so easy to use. I can't comment as I've never used a CR!

Will you PM me details - scalloped circles sound d-lish!
    Thanks!

I have SCAL and absolutely love it! Shouldn't have wasted my money on CDS as I think I've used it once.

I'm about to cut something with it now!

Are any of you running it on Vista? I heard there had been some problems but they were working on it. I keen to get it but don't want to kill my laptop!

Its COMPLETELY idiot proof! I find it easier to use than the design studio software (and its quite similar)
I think a very big positive is that the customer service on SCAL is fantastic, something provocraft may want to learn from.

Since he added the 'shadow' and 'weld' functions I would say SCAL is just about perfect
