Sweetpea! You can lurk all you want, the BIA Social Group is there to inspire, help out, anything you want from it, so go ahead and join - nobody will have a problem with you only popping in when you can.
The first BIA book was full of pictures of stuff that had been made but didn't really give you any info on 'how to' make them - I think the 2nd BIA book rectifies that oversight but not sure if it is out yet... so personally, I would spend my money on wires and stuff to make things rather than on reading about what I could make if I had the stuff!!

happy to scrap!
Thanks Annette!

When you are putting your pages together you normally put the pages on first, back page first etc, then the front cover, then the back cover with the inside facing out...
So do everything the same but before adding the back cover, add your beads to the wires and then the back cover.... when you have bound it and turned the back cover round to where it should be, the beads are sitting in the right place.

thanks Annette would you mind showing us the type of beads that also work best?

Beads with big holes - and sometimes it a bit of a work-up finding them!
These are wooden ones -
These were bright yellow and I painted and embossed them...
so anything goes, just make sure they have large holes in the centre!

I am having problems with closing the bind it all the wires come out oval, book does not sit right... what am i doing wrong? i do adjust the settings to 1" when i am using 1" wires but feel i am maybe using too much pressure?
-
You wait for a silence, I wait for a word
Are you using the plastic wire size guide template to set the wire closing part of the BIA? If so, the only thing I can think is to press slowly, the pressure won't make any difference. Or turn the screw thing so the space where you squash the wires is a smidge wider. IHTH!

Sounds like you've got the spacing wrong and it's pressing the wires too much - i'd unscrew it a little. Also like Dan said best bet is to use the plastic guides and not to have them too tight.

Thanks Dan and Jenny, I just put my plastic guide into my BIA and it was too tight, even though I had it on 1" setting, I adjusted it till the plastic guide fit and it turned out the 1"guide was showing up inside not outside as i previously set it! so many thanks for answering it cos the poor BIA nearly went out the window!!

No probs! It's hard to tell from the little grid, i find it a bit too wobbly. Dont throw your BIA out of the window though you'll be in lurve soon enough

i've been umming and aahing for ages but have just treat myself to a bia, went for the original one as i didn't want the pink one just waiting for it to arrive and i'll be off

she loved life and it loved her right back
I've been wanting to get a BIA, but I've held off because I'm not sure I would use it all the time... I trying to create a pro and con list...
These questions are for everyone that has one...
What would you say is your fav thing about the BIA?
What would you say is the worst thing about the BIA?
Thanks for your help ladies!
