Craft Robo Pro not registering Cut and Print

    Hello All,

Well, I've been pulling my hair out.
I am trying to do a cut and print.
Every time I do it, the cut is off.
I am cutting just plain card stock. 8.5" x 11".
I am cutting in portrait mode.
The bottom registration marks, cuts right on.
As it cuts towards the tail end the cuts gets more off.
I have everything aligned right. The stock is stuck very well on my carrier.

The cut is off about 2mm high and about 1 mm to the right.
    What is going on here?
I get the machine to read the registration marks with no problem.
Then when I set to cut, it cuts alright, just not registered on my print.

    HELP!
I think my CraftRobo Pro II is out of calibration.
Anyone know if this is the problem????
    How do you calibrate?

It will work fine if I stretch my art work. But I feel I should'nt have to stretch my artwork 2 mm up and 1 mm to the right.

    Please see the attachments...

    Thanks,
    Greg

That's odd isn't it - sorry haven't got the Pro but I think quite a few other members have. Perhaps someone will be along later that can help you.

I've got the Pro and have the same problem. I normally manually trace using the robo software and adjust the cutline in the areas that have the problem. it's not ideal though and if any one knows why the problem occurs in the first place, and knows how to fix it I'd also be very grateful.

    Thanks

Think I may have solved the problem..

    Hello All,
    Thanks for the posts...
But, I think I solved my problem..
    Page 4-25 in the manual.
    Distance adjustment.
This function corrects any deviation in the length of cut or the plotted line segments, which occurs depending
    on the medium being used.

I was fiddling around with it, and it looks like it might work.
    I will keep you posted..
    thanks
    Greg

I'd love to have an answer for this too as my CR Pro doesn't do a print and cut as accurate as my little CR did.

Greg, did you get this working? If I don't find a solution to this ...this Pro will be on eBay by the end of the day I've gone back to using my little CR as it always gives me an accurate cut. I've left messages for Graphtec but they haven't called back. HELP!!

    Beth,
    Sorry for the late response...
I didn't try what I stated in the previous thread...

But, I did change my carrier.
I made my own carrier (laminated a piece of card stock)
I use 8.5 x 11. Works fantastic, better then the stock carrier and smaller too!

Now, when I cut, it cuts dead on!
I think my old carrier was bad.

It is kinda nice...I don't even have to move the knife for registration.

    Hi Greg,

That's great you got it working!

I am cutting label stock so I don't need a carrier sheet...but I'll try it with a carrier sheet and see how that goes. Too bad I sold my laminator last year or I could have made a different carrier

I've been talking to someone at Graphtec support all day today and he's been really helpful. I'm about to email him some files so he can print and cut them at his end. I just opened a file I created in Pro and opened it in my little CR and the little CR had perfect cut lines. The tech said the small CR is a Toyota and the Pro is a Mercedes...but I think at the moment I want to drive the Toyota!! LOL. It's not as fast but it's so dependable LOL.

    Beth,
Let me know what he/she has to say...

I was working on a project that I had to get done.
So, I quit doing the tests.

But, with the new carrier, it is dead on!
Try a laminated carrier, much better.
    Stiffer.

But, you would think if you were not using the carrier it should cut dead on! Hmmm.
Keep me posted and I will do the same.

    Hi Greg,

Graphtec is still working on it and they said they'd get back to me as soon as they have a solution.

I did try cutting with a carrier sheet but I got the same results so I'll just wait to see what they have to say. I'll let you know.

Hmmm...I wonder if it's the software. Does anyone on here use a different program with their Pro?

    I use Cutting Master 2.
Then I just cut from Coreldraw...
I do all my art work in Coreldraw and cut from there.
Kinda like sending the job to the printer, instead sending it to the cutter.

I wish I had Coreldraw to test it out...but I don't... I use Paint Shop Pro and import into RM.
