Hi lucille no problem been very busy this week why does everything happen at once? I was looking forward to getting on with this challenge last week but after the good day the other week nothing has gone right since. But glad to report inkscape is all back to normal i have no idea why it happened just reloaded yet again and all is fine. Thank goodness . All being well i'm going to have a go at cutting the file next week and if all works well will post a screen shot of it here and post template in template section. I am keeping my fingers crossed LOL

Suddenly it was March, So here's my February newbie effort I thought I'd have a go at something a bit different It's fractionally out of alignment I haven't cut it, DH would have my guts for garters if he awoke suddenly to the noise of a hammer drill It's a bit late isn't it or early

Well done Melody, your horseshoe idea is very original, and it looks fantastic.

That is great I'm glad you let us see it.

I wanted to do a paper piecing recently and didn't have the right colour card, so I used a chalk eye ink pad to colour some white card and it worked a treat no blotches. I did practice first and found if I was confident and just rubbed lightly across the card it was all the same shade no blotches. I wonder if it depends on what make of ink pad you use?

I've attached a picture it wasn't the face I coloured but the bottom layer.

Thanks lucille for the tip. I did it like i'd seen someone on the tele with a piece of sponge wiped on to the pad then put on to the card. But will give your way a go next time as i've stuck the layers together now ready to be put on a card.

Thank heavens I didn't see that demo or I might not have a crab now I think the reason I used the ink pad is I've seen people do it like that on the TV and it always sees to work for them. I also did mine after I cut it as there didn't seem any point wasting ink on card I was going to throw in the bin.
