    A card for a soldier and a hero

    we have just been told that our nephew had simon rescued 5 of his comrades from a bomb in the helman province afganistan.wow, we didnt even know he was out there,he has just picked up a medal for bravery from the palace,I would like to send him a card that
    he would appreciate.any ideas gratefully recieved thanks maggie

    I'm not sure about card ideas, perhaps something with the help for heroes colours??? or his regiment colours.

    Mostly wanted to comment on the fact you must be so proud of him, that is such a brave thing to have done. My hat goes off to all who are fighting in that war.

    I just asked my OH, we think you could look for an image of the military cross as that is the medal he will be getting.

    edited to add, make sure it is that medal or find out which one he is getting for sure as OH has just said it might be a Victoria Cross.

    Perhaps a Union Flag (aka Union Jack) or you could google for some army images.

    You must be so very proud - we have family in the forces so fully appreciate the selfless act of thinking of others that your nephew so clearly displayed. I hope he enjoyed his visit to the Palace.

    I am so proud of him getting himself and others out of harms way I picked up some union jack papers and think I will put his medal on the military cross thanks maggie
