    Storing ink blending foams

Up until now I've been using one foam per colour family with my distress inks but now I'm finding that the greens and browns aren't working so well with only four pads between them (light/dark of each colour), so I was considering keeping one foam per inkpad. Problem is, there's a lot of inkpads and as always with us scrappers, storage is always a key think! So tell me, how do you guys keep your ink blending foams organised? I was contemplating attaching the relevant foam to the underside of the pad with velcro tape, but then the pads won't stack...

I keep ALL of my foams and the tool in a small RUB 0.7 litre box inside another RUB (3 litre) that contains all my embossing jars & aryclic paint tubes .... my distress inks are kept in a long 4 litre RUB and are stored sidewards, so they slot into each other and I try to store them in their colours together. I currently have 13 stored width ways across the RUB so that I only have to lift the lid and pick the colour out without having to pull the box out and lift the lid. My other ink pigment pads are stored upside down and I can get 3 in height that way. In between the gap I then store the tiny versamark square ink pads!

I did use to store all the ink pads together in a pizza box upside down but if I took them out with me, over time the box became increasingly battered so I now use it for spraying ...!

I use 1 foam per ink & write the name of the ink on the top of the foam. I keep them all in a box with my inks. The inks have a coloured sticker on the side which has the name on.

The foams do get jumbled around but I keep my most used at the top with the pad & if I'm likely to be using a few or all of them, then I get them out & place the pads with them.

My friend Suzysnail keeps her foams in individual ziploc-type bags, with the name of the ink written on the top.

I just rinse the foams out when I have finished using them and leave to dry, before putting them back in my desk tidy

I keep a little one for each colour - only about 2/3 cm big, and either keep them all in a little RUB box, or with some, I tape them to the bottom of the pad.

I have foam attached to chipboard, each colour named and stored in a small embellishment box.

Daft question, but how do you attach the foam to the chipboard?

I love Isobel's idea and mean to do that as soon as I can find the right box. I did put velcro on the bottom of the ink pad but as Lilash said, then found they don't stack

That's even better ! I have had to change some of my foam as I tend to bend it when I use it and it cracks and leaves bits all over my work. The chip board will keep it flat.
Thanks so much for the RAK Isobel.

I've got mine (the inks and the foam pads) in those clear cartons you get from the take-away!!

You can get six ink pads and the foams in each one if you put some in upside down

Also handy if you know what colours you want to take to crops etc .. you dont have to take them all!

As I have only just started I've only got 4 so far but at least the system is in place

I do this and also glue the opposite side of the velcro to my blending tool. It works great for me.

Brilliant! Thanks for that, might just have to re-sort all my foams now!
