Maybe you could write on a sticky label and stick it to the back

Why not test some on a photo you don't need?

You would need a smooth one so it did not leave it embossed on the other side and one that did not leak through and acid free so it did not damage the photos.

You can buy acid free sharpie pens or any of the scrapbooking journalling pens would be fine too. They do take a few minutes to dry though because of the coating on the back of the photo paper.

Before you write anything - just check the print on the back of the photo from the developer as some of them put the date on them for you! I have only discovered this recently after I have been merrily writing the dates on. I had never taken any notice of info on the back until now! I have mine developed at Jessops and they always have the month and year on and sometimes the day on too!!
