Flower Centres (gems?)

Just wondering what the little gems are that I have seen in the centre of paper flowers. Are they brads? Do they have a specific name? I have seen some gorgeous pearly/diamante ones encased in silver but not sure what they are. I have found something like it that are brads but wondered if they were called something else. I have searched and its coming up with just pearls or diamantes on their own. Thanks in advance

I haven't got a photo but gemstone brads does sound about right. They are pearls set in silver that I have seen stuck on prima flowers to spruce them up.

American Crafts do pearl and gemstone brads, and Docrafts have done them in the past as well, not sure if they're a current item.

But if you search as you've suggested under gemstone/gem/pearl brads then I'm sure you'll get plenty of results!

You can also make your own flower centres, which is quite fun - use stick-on gems or big single ones, glitter glue, dimensional paints and glues, foil on chipboard or metallic card, or wire, buttons......Prima want quite a lot of money for their flower centres and I always think it's worth trying to produce your own version and use up bits and pieces at the same time

Docrafts/ Papermania are the cheapest I have seen (about £3 a pack) and they do the pearl ones as well in loads of colours.

I got loads of the ones pictured for 50p a pack when Hobbycraft had their sale. Shame you've missed them but keep and eye out in their next sale
