    Album in a weekend

    Hello,

I have just come back from Florida and have a ton (and I mean a ton) of photos. I went a couple of years ago and managed to fill 4 albums with Disney and Florida Layouts. I dont really want to do that again so I was wondering if anybody knows of any ideas for a super quick album. I have all the papers, as I took advantage of the lovely shops over there. It is just a case of whittleing down the 3500+ photos! Oh my word!!!

Wow that is a lot of photo's !!!! - but bet you enjoyed yourselves.

you could print the photo's smaller?- you'd get maybe 6- 8 photo's on a 12x12 (ish) paper - do it a lot simpler without lots of embellishments - use rings to bind and a nice covered cover and back cover............but again to whittle 3500 photo's down you'll have to be pretty strict with yourself - I really don't know how you'd cram them all in.

Good luck, and let us see the finished album(sssssssssssssss)

Pick out your favourite photographs first - then work on the others.

Assuming you print at 4x6", then you can put 4 photos onto a 12x12 page, with space left for title, etc. If you go for double page LOs, then you can put 6 on 1 page and 4 on the facing page, with minimal embellishments and journalling (or replace 1 photo with a 4x6 journalling card). This is the kind of thing I mean.

As already suggested, if you are able to print at a smaller size you can fit even more in. Or if you make collages in Picasa or whatever, you could fit several shots onto a standard 4x6".

I have a copy of an article which takes you through a 40-photo album in 4 hours. The 3 key features, as always, are preparation, simplicity and being absolutely ruthless. Interested?

You could use the WRMK sleeves

add a couple of journalling cards or do something Project Lifeish to record the trip.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I think I may get some WRMK sleeves and then do a SLO of a fave photo and then a double LO all for one day (IYKWIM). I think that is the same format as the 2010 challenge (which I never finished, but did love!)

g61 the article sounds really interesting, is it on line?

I have just uploaded about 1300 photos to Photobox, I wont get them all developed but quite a few. I will just put what is left into a traditional slip in album.

I hope I can choose which ones use when they arrive through the post!

I'd be interested in the article too g61, can you post a link? I have so many photos but since I started scrapping I don't want tojust do a regular album but as result I don't do anything with them. If only I had more time....

Thanks for the article Margo, it was brilliant - I am wondering if it could be adapted to a 12x12 album.
