    !!!! Sorry to post here!!!!

    but I need to tell anyone that might trying and contact me for help via email, that Virgin have disconnect all our old ntlworld addresses. no warning and no explanation, I can receive emails, but sorry I can't reply until this is sorted.

    I'm giving them hell Doreen, I've worked my way up to management at the moment and refusing to have a new email address, I'm sure this is some ploy to force people with old addresses to get new ones.

    If anyone has received that email concerning speaking to foreign call centres and asking to speak to an English speaking operator, I can assure you it works, the Indian lady concerned was not too happy, but I don't care.

    I'm with Virgin too and I've had my email addy for years, I wouldn't want to change, it would be too inconvenient.

    If they carry on trying to force you to change your e-mail address just tell them "oh well since i have to change my e-mail address anyway i might as well swap my provider at the same time" then tell them you will be contacting sky to be your next provider and therefore will have a new e-mail address provide via them

    I had problems not being able to receive half my channels with sky so i told them i was not happy paying for a service that i was not receiving and therefore i will be swapping over to virgin they soon sent me an engineer out free of charge and fix the the problem lol

    Oh, don't worry I told them that and it wasn't some idle threat. This isn't the first time they have done this to me and they got the sharp end of my tongue then as well. I'm not stupid, I've taken on big companies before and know what to do and I'm prepared to see it through if I have to.

    What a pain Lucille - I must say the only thing that stops me from changing my provider is that I would have to have a new email addy - it's just too much trouble! Hope you get it sorted soon.

    My NTL emails were playing up today. I could receive on all of them but not send. It's all back to normal now. Sometimes their SMTP server plays up, it could have been that.

    HA! not according to them, they said when they checked my email addresses were no longer on their server.

    Just thought I'd mention that when we had to have a new ISP, long boring story but BT wouldn't cooperate after our fire--any way my old e-mail with BT still works even though we now get broadband & e-mail through Virgin! only prob is that I rarely check it

    I switched from BT nearly 2 years ago but I still get emails sent to that address and I keep getting a little box with my btinternet address asking me to enter my pass word - I just close it, but often wonder why the address still appears to be active when I no longer pay for it.

    Well as I said further up yesterday it did start working again, then it packed up again at 9 last night and didn't start sending again until 10am today, then it packed up again at 6.15 pm today and it's still not working, so my out box has a load of emails waiting to be sent.

    I also did a Google search only to discover this has been going on since about 2009, it would appear they are either liars or BS merchants probably a combination of both.
