My vote goes for Tea Dye. Of all the browns I have (several!) this is the one I come back to again and again and again. It's not too dark, nicely brown (I find Old Paper a bit greenish) and just the right colour (IMO) for edging and giving an aged look.

Yes - Old Paper is a bit greenish, very true. I didn't mention it before, but my Tea Dye is actually very dry and needs re-inking, which goes to show how much it's been used.

My vote for Brushed Corduroy i think its a must to produce vintage or distress effects.
If your only buying one or its your first this is the one!

That's my personal favourite too as it's very subtle.
I do find some of the others too dark for my liking.

Thats a very useful little chart. Thank you for sharing. I only have the walnut stain shade of brown....i never realised it was so dark compared to the other ones....i think i need to invest in a paler brown too then maybe my inked edges would be more subtle!
