print and cut with latest studio upgrade

    Hello everyone
I have not posted before (too shy) although I have lurked for years but I wonder if anyone could help with may latest problem. Since downloading the latest studio upgrade, last night, print and cut has gone wrong. It cuts the shape fine but about 2 cm lower than it should and about a half centimetre to the left. I haven't had any trouble with print and cut before with studio and really liked the program for that reason. I have followed instructions to calibrate the machine but it had made no difference. I hope someone can help.

Thank you everyone. I have read through the thread that Doreen mentioned and hoped that it would be something as simple as the paper size or not knowing the right machine unfortunately it isn't. I can't find anywhere on the program to select my machine (200-20). I am very frustrated as I was beginning to get to grips with print and cut on the previous version of studio and would love to know what has changed.

Sorry it wasn't any help Anne, I've updated mine but I haven't tried print and cut since I did it, I'll give it a try tomorrow hopefully.

If you are unhappy with the update, simply delete studio and re-install the previous version.

Please report this problem as others are experiencing the same thing, I'm wondering if this version is meant for the American market using letter size, so it isn't working with our A4 either that or all the machines need to be recalibrated. It's not very good is it.

I've reported this problem and this is their reply

QUOTE: No, the update should be universal. We are not sure what error in regard to alignment you may be noting. Do you mean during print and cut operation that the cuts are out of alignment or that the resulting cuts of normal jobs appear to be off from where they are assumed they should be?

If you could send us an example to explore this further, that may be most helpful. We would request:

    · The STUDIO file being worked with
    · An image of the resulting cut to show where the images were actually cut
    · Information on if the cutting mat was in use, and if so which style
    · Information on the loading method selected on the Silhouette’s LCD screen

We look forward to your clarification at your convenience.

Please people with similar problems get those files across the wire so the problem can be solved.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, my version 1.7.1 also doesn't print and cut accurately. I haven't bothered with it since but I will now try to re-create the details and send them off.

Thanks Ruth, lets hope anyone else suffering in silence does the same, don't forget to tell what version you are using.

Looks like it was the update Anne. I tried the PnC this morning and it's off for me too.
I've sent the details they asked for in their reply to Lucille.

What I'm wondering is that if there are problems with PnC in 1.9 will there be any fixes if they are now going to a paid version or is that it, we are stuck with it unless we pay?

and as they don't seem to be able to get everything perfect at the same time will the paid version have to be continually updated to get rid of whatever bugs there are with that version?

If I decide to go to 1.9 do I have to uninstall 1.7.1? can't remember what I did before.

    Ruth
