    Fabric Blade?

    Hi everyone

Is it just wishful thinking? or am I right in thinking the fabric blade unscrews to get rid of any debris, Or am I just talking utter tosh?!

Any help or advice would be appreciated

    thanks

    Vanessa

There's a video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVMkWyhAYtU Sandra. I couldn't get mine back together so you need to be careful.

Hi yes there is a link on this forum showing a youtube video & yes it does work. You may need pliers if your grip isn't too good. But once you've taken it apart it's easier the next time. It's surprising how much paper (not dust) is inside the holder

I have done a couple of my blades now, 1 I cannot get undone at all, but I have got them back together okay, try again Doreen, I sometimes find the more I try something the more impossible it becomes....

The fabric blade DEFFO unscrews for cleaning. I spoke to Brian at Graphtec the other day after buying one thinking it was a paper blade, and he assures me that the blade will cut paper as well as the paper blade.
I have since found out that the blue colour of the fabric blade is for identification only, so that people don't mix blades when cutting fabric/ paper.

I love my fabric blade, I don't use it for fabric, but save so much time, when clearing it of paper! I hope they decide to revamp the black one too, although I suppose it doesn't really matter!
Just got my new Silhouette Cameo ! (THANKS MUM XXX)

Brian or PhilK from Graphtec (sorry I can't remember which one) said the ratchet blade and the coloured cap blade are interchangeable and as the only difference between the black and the blue is the colour I assume it would.

I've just received the one I ordered yesterday (i haven't tried it yet) and it says on the instructions that come with it that it can be unscrewed

Could anyone tell me how long the fabric blades are lasting for? (before going blunt) are they longer than the original blades, as my original blade has only lasted a month.

It really depends on what how much cutting and what type of card etc you're cutting. Have you checked to see if the end of the blade is chipped. I would have thought it would have lasted longer than a month.
