Version 1.9 (and I think v2.00) of the Designer version of Studio can save to svg format so it would be possible to:
1. save file to svg format in Designer
2. open this in Inkscape
3. save it as dxf
4. load this in to Robo Master (and save as gsd)
So you'd be better suggesting she uses Studio as Lucille recommends. And it is possible to use both Robo Master and Studio on the same computer if needs be.

"The main reason people buy those machines [Craft Robos] is to cut out words and lace doily patterns for their scrapbooks."
To follow up on what Rosemary has said, you can only do this if you have Studio DE 1.9 it doesn't work in 2.5
I think it is a pity that they gave us the ability to import cut and alter SVG files but then not save them as SVG's?!!!! It would have been a welcome addition I think. If what you say is true it doesn't make sense to take something away that we could now use if we wanted to!
What are your thoughts as I am new to all this cutting and programs business as had only used Imagine before the Cameo and you had no choice but Cricut's choice! Hobson's really! LOL!

Crafting software is big business, I think most machine manufacturers want their own custom software, in the hope that people will buy X machine because it's software is better than Y's, so it becomes less about the machine and more about software.
Why would people using CR's, Wishblades, Silhouettes and Cameo's want to save their files as SVG or any other format, it isn't necessary.

There is a simple answer to that one Lucille, people own and use different makes of machine because like me I suppose they have found that just one make of machine wont cut everything that needs to be cut, same with software. I have Inkscape and Illustrator

Actually what happens is it links to the export/save as functions in Illustrator and Photoshop via Adobe Bridge, so when I click a format that isn't .studio, it silently launches the export/save as function without launching Illustrator or Photoshop.
Sadly before you ask no I can't post how to do this, it takes a lot of custom programming and currently is specific to my computer only.
