I've just been doing a bit up updating on my blog and have noticed that any pins that were embedded with the old Pinterest look are no longer displaying in blog posts. Most annoying. Rather than spend hours and hours going back through each post I made this year and trying to re-embed those pins, if there are any specific prompts for a week you come across that you would like to see the pin inspiration for can you leave a comment here or via the relevant prompt post on my blog and I will do my best to get those posts updated asap.
It's so frustrating that Pinterest has basically taken away support for the old style of embedding. I totally understand moving to a new format, but there must be thousands of bloggers out their whose archived blog posts now contain blank spaces instead of pretty images.
Think I am going to have to come up with a new way of sharing pins in case they go and change their embed feature yet again!
Nat, I did find that clicking on the image took me to the original place, even though it wasn't displaying on your blog, so I was still able to print out the sketch from the beginning of the challenge
It's interesting Wendy, in Firefox my usual browser the image boxes are no longer displaying when a pin is missing, but they display as placeholders in Internet Explorer so hopefully that will work for most people. Plus some pins from the old format are still displaying ok but others aren't - so illogical.
I am really not a huge fan of the new way pins are embedded as they are so small and more tricky to embed. So yes, definitely need to come up with a different way to share pins that won't be affected by anything else Pinterest tweak.
Thanks for that info, Wendy - very helpful. I think I'd assumed that the Pin had been deleted or something like that - I am very untechy when it comes to things like that!
I've never tried to pin anything from Pinterest on my blog, Nat - so I wouldn't have a clue!
And, using the same papers as yesterday, here is my masculine card... I think the colours are quite suitable, even if there are lacy edges and a bow! DH asked for a card for our friend's birthday ...... five minutes before going out of the door to visit said friend ... so this is the one I gave him
On a roll at the moment, looking forward to today's prompt!
Can someone please point me in the direction of uploading images in a thread? Can we upload them directly, or do we still need an intermediary, like Photo Bucket? It has been a long time, and I've lost loads of brain cells since then ....
If you go to the advanced mode of reply to thread you can attach images via the attachments option (the paperclip) otherwise an intermediary like Photobucket or wherever you store images on your blog can be an easy way to embed them with img tags (icon with a little mountain and sun) as long as the photo dimensions aren't too big. I think you can also upload to the gallery and copying and pasting in one of the codes listed (can't remember of the top of my head) you can embed the pic in your reply post.
