ribbon and bow for wedding invite

    Hi everyone

Can anyone give me instructions for how to create the ribbon/bow effect on the attached image - and is there an easy way to make sure that bow part looks the same size on every invitation?

    Thanks for your help

First you need to decide on the dimensions of the bow.
Once that is decided it is easy.
If, for example the bottom layer of your bow is to be...say 6 cms long on the card and the top to be ...say 4 cms you would need to cut ribbon (or paper) as follows

Bottom layer, cut a length of 13 cms
Top layer, cut a length of 9 cms.

Fold each gently in half and overlap by 1cm. Stick using double sided tape. Fold the loop you have created so that the overlap join is in the centre underneath.

Cut a small length twice the width of your loops plus an overlap.
Place the smaller loop on top of the larger and then wrap the small length around the middle, overlap underneath and glue.

As long as you cut all your lengths all the same and overlap the same amount your bows should be uniform.
    Hope that helps.
    Best Wishes
