I've Finally Done It!!

It has taken me a while but at last I have ordered myself the Cameo and am now just waiting for it to arrive.

I do have a question though; will I need to install the software that comes with the Cameo? I currently have the Silhouette SD and use the Designer edition of the Silhouette Studio Software, I'm hoping when it is attached to the PC I will just need to change my mat size to 12x12 and it will be all systems go, or is this wishful thinking.

You should be able to just plug it in and away you go although as you say you might need to choose your mat size.

This may seem obvious, but there has been a fairly recent (Jan. 2014) update to the Silhouette Studio software on the site, so be sure to download it. I just got my first Silhouette in December 2013 and found out that the version on their website is even newer than what they shipped to me with my machine.

If you go click the file menu then choose preferences/options/general you can set it to check for updates always/daily/weekly/never.

My new Cameo arrived this morning, I had recently updated the software and just plugged the machine in, and it was recognised (and the new 50 shapes were put into my library) and cammie worked immediately, no problems at all. Had a happy morning playing with although nothing to show really just trying different cardstock to see how it would cut Fantastic!!

My Cameo arrived on Monday and today is the first chance I have had to use it, getting very excited.
