Newbury Papercraft Show
I have had an email from Stamposaurus saying
'Newbury Papercraft Show organised by me and Wendy from Stamps and Memories. It is being held at the Berkshire Stand, Newbury Racecourse on Saturday 4 July 2015, 10.30am to 4pm. Entrance is £3 for adults, children under 16 free. A free goodie bag will be given to every paying adult. We will also have a raffle.
We have workshops with Jenny Mayes (frequently seen on Create and Craft TV), Wendy and me (used to be seen on Create & Craft TV!!), bookable when you arrive. There will also be some free make & takes, and demos from TV's John Lockwood & Jenny Mayes.
The Exhibitors are: Stamposaurus, Stamps and Memories, The Art of Craft, Limetree Crafts, JJD, Petticoat Parlour, Ribbon Box, Acid Drops & Wotnots, Jo Sonya & Crafty Needs, UK Stampers Network and Tilly's Colourful Crafts.
Wendy has set up a Facebook page - we would love you to join - if you do that sort of thing https://www.facebook.com/groups/860790363966596/ and just help us spread the word to create a really good event. We hope to grow this event, but really need your support to do that'
Hope they do manage to grow the show back to Artstamps.
just don't call me The Boss
I may pop along and have a look...anyone else?
just don't call me The Boss
I did go to the Newbury Papercraft show yesterday. It sprang up to fill the void left by Artistamps. It wasn't too bad. Not a ton of stands, but the ones that were there had plenty of stuff to look at.
I got a great deal on some black cardstock and some incredibly tightly nested circle dies by Presscut - 24 dies, from 19.5 cm to .9cm. I have given up on circle cutters. None of them work as well as dies and I hate firing up the Cricut to cut a circle, so these suit me down to the ground. I picked up a couple other things to play with, like Brushos, but not a massive haul to be sure.
If I had a complaint it would be the same one as Artistamps - the stands were packed together so densely it was near impossible to see everything you would want to see. There has to be a way they can spread out and make the shopping experience a better one, surely. *'m sure they have to pay my the footage, but they would probably make up the extra because people have the room to actually see what's on offer.
I had intended to go, but, unfortunately life got in the way - again lol. Hopefully, next year.
gosh i did not no it was on i would have loved to have gone.i live so near as well.
I did go along. There were roadworks on arrival, but plenty of signs to direct us around.
I really enjoyed the day, it has such a good buzz. There were not many stands selling, maybe about 10, but the middle of the hall was full of demos and make & takes. Jenny Mayes was there and John Lockwood. I managed to get onto Jenny's workshop, it was just fab. I also did the Stamposaurus one too, which was fun.
So, I arrived at 10am and had to be thrown out at the end! I was a busy crafter all day. The free goodie bag was amazing.
They gave out details with the date of 23 January for the next show at Newbury.
Thanks, I have noted it on the calender.
