Anyone thinking of giving the Best of British competition ago.

Just wondered if anyone was going to have a go with the Best of British scrapbooking competition this year as advertised in Scrapbook Inspirations magazine?

Last year i was too chicken but having found The block comp such a good challenge, i might have a go at this one this year, if i get time to do some layouts that i'm happy with.

    Anyone else thought about it?

There's a cardmakers section and section for newbies, so a chance for everyone.

If you entered last year, have you got any tips or encouragement for those not sure?

I was planning on having a bash at it, you gotta be in it to win it and all that I might even be greedy and enter both the scrappers and cardmakers categories.

They had a Best of British scrapbooking competition last year. The winners and others went into a book.
This year they are having four catogories. Best of British Scrapbooking, Best new scrapbooking talent. (in that you must have started in the last year.) Best of British Cardmaking, Best new cardmaking talent.
For the scrapbooking one, you need to submit a photograph, colour copy or computer scan of your favorite five layouts.(which mustn't have been entered into any other comp or published) Giving details about each layout, list of supplies etc. Entries to be in by 6th feb.
The details are in the Scrapbook Inspirations magazine. Last year they were put on uks but don't know if they will do that this year.

We should ALL be entering - no matter whether you think that you've got what it takes to win or not, get going through those albums now to find your favourite layouts. You've got nothing to lose by entering - let's all be proud to be British scrappers and give the Americans and Australians a run for their money!

Jay Jay you are way too kind. Hope you are giving it a go.

Hollybo, just try and start writing your supplies from now on. My worst problem is patterned paper, i list supplies after i've stuck everything down and forget to look at the back of the paper for the manufacturer and name of paper. But you can often jog your memory by browsing the sponsors site.

Well said Kate. And if you are making new layouts or cards for a comp, i find you generally think a whole lot more about what you are doing and can often be very surprised and pleased with the results.

I'm pondering, but everyone should have a bash, particularly as there is a new to scrapbooking category.
