    Organising your albums

I was just wondering how you all organise your albums.

I am at the moment doing an array of LOs from heritage to random stuff i just like......

I ahve a seperate wedding album, one for heritage and the rest goes into one other......

What I am asking i guess is do you have seperate albums for each theme?

I am thinking that all my LOs are in one album at the moment (the one si don't know what to do with)
But surely the page protectors will get marked by that specific pages embellies.....then if I want to swap them it will look all scruffy...I cannt afford to buy new page protectors either....

I have asked for 12x12 albums for xmas but everyone is terrified to buy me craft stuff

If you store them upright as opposed to flat then the page protectors should last well.

My 12x12 albums are random LOs of anything, but i also have an 8x8 album for a specific holiday

    I have:
A 12x12 'family' album - has both heritage and new pages in at the mo, but I may move the newer ones
A 12x12 'kids' album, which was a cheapish one for LOs of my niece and nephew
A 12x12 'Vacation' album, for LOs of my 2003 mega trip to the US and Canada
    An 8x8 '2005 Scottish trip' album - that's complete
    A 12 x 12 'arty/non specific' album
A 12x12 'mystery' album, not much in this at the moment - suffice it to say most of the photos in it won't be mine and the LOs won't be appearing in public (think film stills and publicity photos and you get the drift).
An empty 8x8 for photos of Spain.
A 6x6 Christmas album. I am nicking Jane's idea from the last SI mag and will use old cards and memorabilia and do some journalling, thoughts about Christmas, family traditions etc.

Baylie, when I move LOs I plan to take the posts out and dismantle the album if the LOs have got comfy in their page protectors. It hasn't been a problem to shift the LOs as yet, but they have only been in situ a matter of a few months.

Stored upright as allready suggested they are fine. I do bumpy albums and no dents in page protectors as yet.
I have 7 12x12 albums on the go at the moment. 2 for DS, 2 for me, 1 for Mum and Dad, 1 Heritage, and one for family, friends and pets etc. Oh yes and a just completed 6x6 of my dolls houses.

Baylie there are cheaper albums around - just have a look around - unless you want them all matching of course.

mine are all mixed up at the moment.

i did used to have 'year' albums and planned to try to scrap this way! More recently I have just kept whatever I scrap together in one album. I have bought a couple of new albums and one day they will all be in the appropriate albums and maybe one for Christmas and my 17.57 album- which will be the photos of the girls on their birthdays at the exact time they were born!

I have one 12x12 album for double layouts, and one for singles. I don't scrap by theme or chronologically so they are just thrown in together! I also have an 8x8 album just for my recent Florida holiday. And I've also bought a 6x6 album to scrap my toddler's baby pictures (but haven't made a start on that yet)

As for dented pps etc - as long as you stick to the same brand of albums, if you come to rearrange your pages later, you can just move the whole thing, page protector and all.

Baylie- I bought another 3 albums in Boots this week at £5. I know a lot of people find them plain- but I am using them to store my layouts until they are rehomed, and I like plain and simple anyway!!!!!!!!!

I usually go for Mrs Grossman as Ilike the covers and the page protectors seem to be a good 12x12 (not too small)

I have not found them cheaper then £26.99
