scanning advice
I can scan my layout and 'stitch' it together, but I keep getting shadows on the image as if light is getting in how do I avoid this, especially if I use embellishments. I have a dell all in one printer/scanner (came with the PC)
Any advice much appreciated

I had the same problem.
Instead of putting the lid of the scanner down on the LO I've been placing a large folded bath towel on top and leaving the lid up - seems to eliminate the light and hold down the layout a bit more evenly.

Trust me....I'm full of scrap!
I used to scan my layouts and stitch them together. I still have the program and it works OK but now I use my camera as its less time consuming. I find it works just as well. Take a look in my gallery in my shop.
I take the pictures outside on a "not too bright" day. Lots of natural daylight and a "straight on" photo. And keep VERY still

My Own Self!
I turn the scanner upside down for lumpy LOs, the paper doesn't 'bag' down between the embellishments. It isn't ideal, but it is an improvement. I agree with Lorraine for very lumpy pages, that just won't scan the way I want them to.
