please stop by the MacMillan Nurses card stall in the lobby and say 'Hi'!

I've taken a day off work, and expect to be there at least from 10am until 4pm -- but possibly later if we have stock and customers beyond then! (There will probably be 2 of us there, but I think Janet will have a MacMillan sweatshirt on, as she actually works in their office!)

I believe they raised over £300 selling handmade cards last year, and the event is scheduled to run up to and including Saturday (started on Monday!)

it's a cause close to my heart....

my maternal grandmother died of intestinal cancer 25 years ago (a few days before John Lennon was shot!), my paternal grandmother in January 1983 of breast cancer (the day after my birthday!), and my maternal grand-father in 1992 (just before I got married) of liver cancer. My paternal grand-father died of 'other' causes after he had a heart attack while riding his motor-bike, but when they ran tests in the hospital they said they'd found cancer, and this could have brought on the heart attack!

Just over 80 of the cards they had at the start of the week were ones I'd made too... so will find out this morning how well they've been selling -- and I'm a bit nervous about this, as I've not made cards for selling before!
