    sad Heat Gun Help Please!

I'm new to Embossing, and have got a brand-new Heat Gun. When I used it there's a faint smell of burning, is this just the metal getting hot? Or could it be faulty?

I have never used a Heat Gun before, so don't know if it's meant to make a smell! Or if I might be doing something wrong!

    Plse help me!

It will probably be some residue left by the manufacturing.

The smell should go after a couple of uses.

Hi just keep using it a few times and see if it goes, also make sure you aren't heating too close to your paper.

Ah, I could be heating too close to my paper, I hold it about 1 - 2 cms away. How big a gap are you meant to leave between your heat gun and paper?

I hold it at least an inch away and make sure I keep the heatgun moving, if you hold it in the ame place for more than a few seconds it can start to scorch the paper
