    Cutting acrylic

I'm hoping to cut down the size of an acrylic cover (2mm) - can anyone recommend a way of doing this so that it doesn't crack?

It might help to warm it. I have die-cut acrylic & not had it crack.

There are 2 different materials on the market, that are called acrylic...one is flexiable and can be cut with a die cutter, crop-a-dile etc, I am not one hundred percent sure what material it is but it isn't pure acrylic, thus it is flexiable. Acrylic (perspex to give it the brand name) must be scored and then you can control the break...like doing tiles!!

It is very confussing with 2 different materials being called acrylic!!

    Hope that helps

when i was in pic framing, we scored the perspex a number of times, to get just 2 mm off, you may be better drawing a line on and sanding it, as it doesnt do well cutting of small amounts!
