Help pls - new to stamping with a silly question!
Well maybe not but it feels a bit silly
I've just got into stamping, and so far i've only done words and wot-not, in black, but i've bought some stamps which i'd like to add so colour to. What's the best thing to use to add colour - paints, pencils, chalks, inks....??? Haven't used anything like any of these before except slapping some acrylics onto layouts, so any tips would be gratefully received!!

I use watercolour pencils to colour in the edges, then brush the colour into the rest of the space with a little water; have also stamped onto acetate and coloured in with gellyroll and sakura pens; used chalks with a pointy cotton bud, used paintbrushes and an inkpad, and used glue to fill the space before covering in glitter... HTH!

I ink the stamps with sakura pens especially if they are flowers etc. Don't do large stamps as they tend to dry out before you have managed to colour all the parts.

Chalks? Umm... I have the pearlescent chalks and brights - silver tins, semi-circular colours? I think they've gone through a few brand-name changes, but when I got them they were Pebbles Inc.
And I got my watercolour pencils for about 79p in home bargains, and they're daler-rowney or similar, just a starter pack of 16 xx

Stamping
Hi, you can buy stamping pens, Marvey sell a range, as do Whispers.
You can practise with felt tip pens.
Instead of useing a ink pad, you simply colour the lines you want with the felt tip pens, practice on a small stamp first and just before you stamp it onto your card/paper 'Huff on it' (sort of like coughing on the stamp).
Hope this helps
Kind Regards

stamping
If you are going to watercolour your stamped image remember to use a waterproof ink - eg Stayzon otherwise the colour will run.(You'll need the ink cleaner too, to remove it from your stamps. it won't go completely but won't show on your next image.)
Have fun - there are so many techniques to try once you get hooked !
